Version 1.2 slightly delayed

My first attempt at 1.2 got rejected by Apple. It had “coming soon” on the Settings page against a female voice option, and apparently you are not allowed to have incomplete features. I put it right and resubmitted it the same day (2nd September), so I’d hope to see it available in the next few days.

Version 1.2 nearly ready

While waiting for version 1.1 to appear (hooray!-finally out), I’ve been working on 1.2. I’ve re-recorded all sounds, and am making them mp3s instead of AIFFs – the way I used to do sound only worked with AIFFs, but I’ve changed it. It now only takes up about a fifth of the space that it used to take up on your iPod/iPhone.

I’ve also added lessons 13 (Family) and 14 (Animals), and sound to the Practice screen, and I’ve added a Settings tab so that you can turn practice words off, and a volume control.

I’m planning on adding a female voice choice, but have not done the recordings yet and so that will have to wait.

As long as I get it finished this week, my guess is that v1.2 will be available to you in early September. Keep the suggestions coming for v1.3.

Suggest extra subjects / words

The hardest part of this program for me was thinking of categories. Is there a category you would like to see or a word you would like added to a category – please reply with  ideas.

Version 1.1 in the works

Always resist those last little tweaks – I updated a phrase just before the original release, and it “looked OK”. In fact, I put a resource file in the wrong place, and lesson 2 is really lesson 3. Nothing like discovering that while waiting for version 1 to release to spoil your day.

V1.1 is in the iTunes system, but will take a little time to get passed by Apple. Sorry about that.
